This is important because, while some companies offer things standard (like an SSL certificate or security package), other hosts will ask you to pay more if you want them.Included Value-Added FeaturesAfter what features you wont get, well go over some of the features you will. These are things that stand out as valuable to most website owners or particularly unique features of a s pecific host.Reliability (Uptime and Page Load Speeds)You want your website to be available and accessible as often as possible. Due to maintenance and the highly technical nature of the hosting process, there will be an occasional blip or momentary downtime over the course of your hosting experience. Many times this will be unnoticeable.Page speed is typically more important, but major hosting providers all fall within a certain page speed standard. Still, this is a thing many people have questions about. And for good reason, as it mayâ€"in however slight a wayâ€"affect how their websites rank in search engines.Ease of UseHow easy will it be to set up and manage your website? Will there be walkthroughs, wizards, installers, or tutorials?Compatibility with CMSsTheres a good chance that at least a third of the people who read this want to know how easy it will be to install WordPress or another CMS. Thats why this gets its own section.Customer Experience and SupportOverall, you need to know if youll be able to get support when you need it. Thats why Ive evaluated not only customer support channels and self-service resources, but response times and thoroughness as well.NameCheap vs GoDaddy comparisonThe above 7 factors will be used to evaluate which of these providers, NameCheap or GoDaddy, offers the most value overall. If you would rather know who our overall winner is than go category-by-category, feel free to jump to the conclusion. If you already know what these terms mean, feel free to skip to this sections actual review.Shared HostingShared hosting is the cheapest hosting you can get. This is where your website and a number of other websites are sharing a single server, and there are few, if any, clear boundaries. To use a popular example, this is like your website and all the other websites staying at the same hostel, using the same shared resources. VPS HostingVPS Hosting has clearer boundaries than shared hosting. Yes, everyone is sharing the same se rver, but there are clear limits and fewer websites hosted on a server, in most cases. Resources are more carefully managed, and traffic spikes from other websites are less likely to affect you. This is like renting an apartment in an apartment building with shared common areas.Cloud HostingCloud Hosting is a lot like VPS Hosting, and many web hosts treat them like one and the same. That, or they offer separate plans that look and act the same once youre using them. However, behind the scenes, cloud hosting means that resources are spread over several machines whereas with VPS hosting, everyone shares the same physical server. Performance-wise, if you expect to grow your site quickly, starting with VPS or cloud is typically recommended.Dedicated ServersDedicated servers are the most expensive tier because your website (or websites, if you plan to host more than one) is kept on the same private, physical server. This means that no other website will be sharing your resources. This is like renting your own private home.WordPress and “Managed” Hosting Plans: Managed hosting plans are “specialty” types of plans that may or may not be offered by a given web host. These are not standard and can be difficult to compare. Popular managed plans are usually WordPress or e-commerce specific.NameCheap pricingTheir next tier offers unlimited everything, comparable to GoDaddys “deluxe plan”. It will cost you $52.88 per year, with a hefty discount your first year. Thats about half of what GoDaddys plan would cost you for a year (before any discounts).Their “business plan” whichâ€"like GoDaddysâ€"is a VPS plan, costs $98.88 per year and comes with comparable storage, bandwidth, and unlimited websites built. Thats about ¼ what a similar plan from GoDaddy would cost. Click here for current NameCheap Pricing GoDaddy pricingGoDaddy offers shared, VPS, and dedicated servers. They dont offer cloud hosting at this time, or they may offer it as part of their busines s services without saying outright that its something they use.Their basic plan for $7.99 per month is all right if youre brand new to websites and just want to play with hosting. Its very limited but allows you to use the same features and interface you get with a better plan. The next upgrade allows you to host unlimited domains and have unlimited storage space with the same features as the basic plan. It only costs $10.99 per month. If you need more power or want to build a business website that you want to ensure stays up and can handle a fair amount of traffic, then you may want a business plan. They start at $19.99 per month and come with a few e-commerce-specific features but not much else.Dedicated hosting is significantly more expensive, starting at around $80 per month for their smallest options. This also gets you 3 dedicated IP addresses as well as a free SSL (for a single year). Click here for current GoDaddy pricing The Winner? If you are planning on running just a few business websites or a single website, NameCheap wins hands down. They offer the lowest prices for these kinds of plans. If you need more, then you need a different host.Fees and Features You Have to Pay forIf NameCheap is so cheap, does that mean it offers less overall? Does GoDaddy just come with more at the basic level?NameCheapNameCheap doesnt make you pay for many extras, and the extras they do offer (compared in the next section) are there for everyone, even if you have their cheapest shared hosting plan. As one of NameCheaps pet causes is “a free and equal internet”, they live up to their ideals in this space.GoDaddyGoDaddy charges (a lot) for SSL certificates and security features that should come standard. They also offer some things to you for free for a year, and then charge you on your next billing cycle whether you used the feature or not, unless you specifically opt out.The Winner?NameCheap offers what it offers for all. They dont try to hide what theyll bill you for laterIncluded Value-Added FeaturesWhat do these two hosts offer that most other hosting companies may not?NameCheapNameCheap offers free SSL certificates for all customers, no matter what plan you choose. They realize that now SSL certificates are mandatory in most applications and are there for you.NameCheap also offers a decent website builder that will allow you to build a basic informational webpage with a number of social media and video plugins to manage your content. Easy WordPress installs are also available.Namecheap also offers free backup services and 50 MySQL databases even with their value plan. These are things that are much more limited or completely lacking from other offers and other hosting companies.GoDaddyGoDaddy offers many things that are similar to what NameCheap will give you. A decent website builder, one-click WordPress installs, or 1-click installs for hundreds of other apps.If you happen to have a dedicated server or higher-tier business plan, you may also get several things includedâ€"like a free domain registration or certain GoDaddy-developed themes or plugins. The Winner?NameCheap offers more features to everyone, not just the higher-tier users. Therefore, NameCheap wins this category.Reliability, uptime, and page load speedsOverall reliability means that a basic page will load in under a second on either desktop or mobile, while uptime stays at over 99.9%. If your page takes too long to load, whether its the hosts fault or because the page itself is too “large”, it will result in visitors leaving immediately.NameCheapNameCheap meets these standards easily. Their pages load quickly and stay up often enough to meet or exceed industry standards in most recent tests. However, until last year, they had an overall uptime rating of 99.98%, slightly less than their best competitors.GoDaddyGoDaddy has a similar page load time and reliability rating overall. The Winner? Not much needs to be said here. With either host, you have just as short a page load time and just as reliable an uptime rating. Both of these hosting companies meet or exceed the hosting industry standardsâ€"its a tie.Ease of UseIf youre brand new to websites and hosting but need to get a website up yesterday, this is what you need to know.NameCheapAn easy to use website builder that lets you get a page up quickly (and doesnt bombard you with a few hundred low-quality templates) is your first option from NameCheap. It’s easy to use and easily accessible from their cPanel interface. The modifications theyve made to the cPanel make it easy to use for everyone, whether theyve used this tool before or not.For e-commerce, you have several secure apps to choose from within NameCheaps app installer. WordPress and WooCommerce are available and easy to set up as well.GoDaddyGoDaddy also uses a modified cPanel. Theirs is a bit more complicated and cluttered, just like their website builder. If all you want is WordPress or another CMS, GoDaddy offers tha t, too. Its easy to get started in just a few clicks. Their e-commerce solution, for business plans or better, is also easy to use, albeit limited and a bit slow. The Winner?Namecheap is simple and straightforward. It has a well designed custom cPanel and great website builder.Compatibility with CMSs (like WordPress)You may already have an idea how this NameCheap vs GoDaddy comparison of CMS compatibility will go. Theyve been pretty evenly matched on featuresâ€"will it stay that way?NameCheapNamecheap offers one of the easiest WordPress installs around. In just a few clicks, you can have WordPress, or an assortment of other CMSs, or apps installed and ready to work with.GoDaddyGoDaddy offers a similar process. With just a few clicks, or a single click if you want them to fill in some of your specifics, you can have your CMS or apps running. If you choose a managed WordPress install, however, choosing GoDaddy also means you get access to several Premium themes and plugins for “free†. Just for the extra cost of having GoDaddy manage your installation. This means they install updates and create basic backups. The Winner?GoDaddy offers WordPress-specific hosting and managed plans. Namecheap does not. This means that GoDaddy wins this category, though if you choose to install WordPress on your own or a basic hosting plan, they are evenly matched.Customer support re talking about.NameCheap also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.GoDaddyGoDaddy offers 24/7 phone support, live chat, and ticket-based support. You can expect to have a response from any of these sources in just a few minutes, though escalated issues (those requiring expertise) may take longer to resolve.GoDaddy also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its nothing special, but it could be something you need to know or use if you do decide to go with GoDaddy and end up regretting it.The Winner?GoDaddy is unique for offering phone support. Out of all the hosts Ive reviewed, they tend to win best suppor t for this and this alone. Its a great thing for them to have. Not only is it phone support, however, but short response times when you call. When was the last time you spent all of one minute before being connected to a representative?GoDaddy vs NameCheap: our conclusionGoDaddy vs NameCheap, their overall hosting is comparable. When youre looking for value, however, thats where NameCheap wins. They offer more for less and do it consistently. They also offer the customer service and overall stability you might not expect at those prices. If you want more for less, NameCheap is your winner. Its a great company to work with when youre starting out and to grow with as you build your website or websites. If you need a host that offers more than VPS, then youve ruled NameCheap out. They only offer a fairly standard VPS plan, no dedicated servers. Our #1 web hosting pick:Get top rated hosting for as little as$2.64 per Month Claim your discount now! Using the Spanish Verb Sentir

Sentir is a very common verb that typically means to feel. It usually refers to feeling emotions, but it can also refer to physical sensations. The Difference Between Sentir and Sentirse Sentir commonly appears in the reflexive form sentirse. The difference in using sentir and sentirse is that sentir is typically followed by a noun, while sentirse is followed by an adjective or adverb describing how a person feels. Otherwise their meanings are essentially the same. Here are some examples of sentir used to describe emotional feelings: El atleta dijo que sentà a alegrà a y satisfaccià ³n por el logro del campeonato. (The athlete said he felt joyful and satisfied about attaining the championship.)Siento pena y tristeza por ello. (I feel shameful and sad about it.)Se siente feliz por ser abuela. (She feels happy about being a grandmother.)Me siento enojada y frustrada. (I feel angry and frustrated.) Here are examples of sentir being used with physical sensations. Although in most of these cases you could probably translate sentir as to sense, usually it would be better to translate based on the context: Puedo sentir pasos en la azotea. (I can hear footsteps on the roof.)Él me dijo que sentà a olor a muerte. (He told me he smelled death.) When sentirse de refers to a body part, it usually indicates the sensation of pain: Me siento de la cabeza. (I have a headache.) Standing by itself, sentir can indicate sorrow or regret: Lo siento mucho. Im very sorry. Using Sentir in Phrases It is common to use sentir as part of a phrase. Although you may not use feel in the most natural translation, often you can determine the meaning of the phrase from the individual words. Some examples: sentir algo por una persona (to have love or similar feelings for someone): Decirte que ya no siento algo por ti serà a mentir. (To say I no longer have feelings for you would be lying.) sentir celos (to be jealous): Cree que sà ³lo sienten celos las personas inseguras. (She believes that only insecure people have jealousy.) sentir culpa, sentirse culpable (to feel guilty): No sentà a culpa por lo que acababa de hacer. (He did not feel guilty for what he had just done.) sentir ganas de infinitivo (to feel like doing something): Siento ganas de llorar cuando pienso en el accidente. (I feel like crying when I think about the accident.) sentir que (to be sorry or sad that): Siento que mi color de piel ha cambiado. (I am sad the color of my hair has changed.) hacer sentir (to cause a feeling in someone): A veces nos hacemos adictos a alguien que nos hace sentir bien. (Sometimes we become addicted to someone who makes us feel good.) sin sentir (without being noticed): Tomà © la medicina sin sentir ninguna diferencia en mi vida. (I took the medicine without noticing any difference in my life.) This phrase is sometimes best translated literally:  ¿Cà ³mo es posible que te lo diga sin sentir? (How is it possible that she told you that without any feeling?) Using Sentir as a Noun Sentir also can be used as a noun to refer to feelings or sentiments: El sentir y el pensar son dos funciones de la mente. (Feeling and thinking are two functions of the mind.)El presidente representa el sentir del pueblo. (The president represents the feelings of the people.)Tenà a una vida dedicada a la promocià ³n del sentir indà gena. (He had a life dedicated to the promotion of indigenous sentiment.)Las almas no nos permitieron matar sin sentir. (Our souls did not allow us to kill unfeelingly.)Entiende muy bien el sentir de la calle. (He understands very well the feelings on the street.) Conjugation of Sentir Keep in mind that sentir  is irregularly conjugated. When it is stressed, the sent- of the stem changes to sient-, as in siento, I feel. And in some but not all forms, the stem changes to sint-, as in sintià ³, he or she felt. Unfortunately, this second stem change doesnt occur in a predictable way. The conjugation pattern is shared by about three dozen other verbs. Among them are consentir (to allow), convertir (to change), mentir (to lie), and preferir (to prefer). Also, the conjugated forms of sentir overlap with those of sentar, which means to sit. For example, siento can mean either I feel or I sit. This overlap is seldom a problem because the two verbs are used in such different contexts. Key Takeaways Sentir is a common Spanish verb that typically means to feel, especially in an emotional or mental sense. There is usually little difference in meaning between sentir and its reflexive form, sentirse.Sentir is conjugated irregularly in that its stem sometimes changes to sient- or sint-.

4 Options for Converting Slides to Digital Format

Got stacks of slide carousels loaded up with old family photos? Unfortunately, the pictures on those slides are probably fading as you read this. Now is the time to save those memories for future generations by converting them to digital format.   There are  four  major options for digitizing 35mm  slides. Flatbed Scanner Many traditional flatbed scanners do a good job at slide scanning as well. Look for a scanner that is designed to scan negatives and slides in addition to traditional paper photos and documents. The optical (not digital) resolution should be at least 2400 dpi or greater. Many flatbed scanners require an extra transparency adapter attachment for scanning slides—sometimes it comes with the scanner, and sometimes you have to buy it separately. Good bundled scanning software is also a must, to give you control over the final results, although Hamricks VueScan offers an excellent alternative and works with most flatbed scanners. Read user and editorial reviews to find a flatbed scanner that handles slides well before you buy. Dedicated Film Scanner From an image quality standpoint, the best method for digitizing your slides is to use a high resolution dedicated film/slide scanner. They can be fairly expensive, so probably not the best option unless you literally have thousands of slides to scan. Dedicated film scanners do, however, offer excellent resolution, and the control they offer over the final images is something you generally dont have when you opt for a professional scanning service. Slide Duplicator If you own a good digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera, a slide duplicator, or  duper, offers a good, inexpensive option for digitizing your slides. A slide duplicator attaches to your DSLR cameras in place of the lens, using a T-mount adapter ring. The other end of the duper is a sliding gate that holds two slides. The duper also has an internal lens, with a fixed aperture and focusing distance, that focuses the slides image onto your DSLRs imaging plane so that you can then take a picture of the slide. While slide duplicators are  inexpensive and easy to use (they require no electricity or a computer since you can take the pictures directly onto your cameras flash card), dupers do not offer the digital quality you can get from a flatbed or film scanner. In most cases, youll find that some image cropping is unavoidable. Most digital cameras also dont offer the dynamic range (the amount of gradation between light and dark in the photo) of a scanner, which can affect the photos shadow detail. Scanners generally offer a better resolution (a 3200 optical dpi scanner is about equivalent to a 12-megapixel digital camera) as well, so if you want to print larger photos from your slides, this may be a deal breaker. Professional Photo Shop If you dont have too many slides, or if youre not very comfortable with computers and software, then your best bet is probably to opt for a professional service to scan your slides for you. Many such services can be found on the Internet, but you may find more peace of mind by checking with local photo labs. Definitely shop around because pricing and quality control vary widely. Do be sure to ask whether the photoshop cleans and scans each slide individually. If they batch scan, you probably wont be happy with the quality. Tips for Scanning Slides The trick to getting good digital scans of your slides is to start with clean slides. Dust both sides of each slide off with a quick hit of compressed air and be careful not to touch the emulsion. Make sure your computer is fairly new with a fast processor and plenty of memory and hard drive space to store all of the digital images. A plug-in external hard drive is a good option when scanning slides or photos. We highly recommend that you scan directly into a good photo organization/editing program such as Photoshop Elements, which can drastically cut down on the time spent scanning as you can save naming the files, cropping, rotating, etc for later once, the images are all on your computer in the organizer. After scanning, back up your new digital files onto DVDs - and make extra copies to share with your family members!

Alienation of Labor free essay sample

The Alienation of Labor is an idea of Karl Marx which is an artificial construct and it is certainly applied but not too clear. Marx describes this idea in a pretty straightforward manner. He is basically saying that the worker has no control over his or her life. The worker is nothing more than a cog being used in the business machine’s discretion. The worker really has no individual rights and certainly no demonstration in the market place. In turn, the laborer is a slave to the system of product construction. There are four stages involved in this idea. There is nature, or human nature and this is because you are alienated from human nature. The second stage is the self, it is animalistic, and you are being reduced to an animal. The third stage is species, no longer having any sort of creativity. The final stage is other, meaning competition or work amongst each other. We will write a custom essay sample on Alienation of Labor or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Hegel vs. Nietzsche -Hegel Hegel believes that slave morality is an opportunity to work on one’s self, and that freedom in the mind truly helps oppression. He believes that in this relationship, the master is actually the slave. He thinks this because he feels that the master is dependent on the slave and without the slave the master is nothing. In turn, this makes the master a slave because he is so dependent on his slave. If you crumble, Hegel believes it is a tragedy because he is a communitarian which means he is more empathetic to situations. He believes that if you weren’t strong enough and mentally tough enough it was because you didn’t get the support and care from the community. -Nietzche Similar to Hegel, Nietzche also thinks that freedom is held in the mind and you can only achieve this by being strong. A main difference of Nietzsche’s view compared to Hegel is the fact that he believes that if you fail at freeing yourself through the mind, you can only put it on yourself, it was your fault and no one else’s. Nietzsche’s view of this relationship works on two different levels or ideas: good or bad in the case of master morality and evil or good in the case of the slave. When talking about slaves, he believes that the slaves are incapable of creating their own original values, instead they are influenced and invert to their masters. The master’s view of the slave according to Nietzsche is basically that he is good therefore the slave is bad. In contrast, the slave’s view of the master is that he is evil, therefore we are good.

10 Signs It’s Time to Quit Your Job

10 Signs It’s Time to Quit Your Job Let’s be honest: many of us aren’t in our dream jobs, for whatever reasons. And even if you are working in your ideal field, there’s a good chance that the experience isn’t what you daydreamed it would be. It’s important to know when it might be time to cut bait and start over in a new role. 1. You dread going to work in the morning. If you hit your snooze button 15 times or roll out of bed every morning frowning about what your day holds, this is a problem. Even the most chipper coworker in your office has less enthusiastic days, but if it becomes an everyday dread, this could impact your overall happiness and health.2. You can’t hide your disdain at work.If other people are noticing that you are cranky or unhappy, it’s not good. It could impact your relationship with your boss and be noted as a performance issue.3. You dislike your team.If you have issues working together with your immediate group on projects or their everyday habits are like nails on a chalkboard to you, the problem might not be them. It could be that you would fit in better somewhere else.4. You dislike your team leader. There are plenty of terrible bosses out there: mean, arrogant, and just plain incompetent. It’s also possible that he or she is a great person, but you just can’t flourish under their style of management. If you find yourself rolling your eyes every time you get an email from this person, it could be time to leave.5. Your personal life is affected by your job.Feeling overworked and unhappy can drag down other parts of your life. This can show itself in a variety of ways: feeling short-tempered with family or friends, having issues with sleep, or feeling anxiety over things that may not seem work-related. If you find that your general feeling of well-being is lower because of your work activities, it’s better to err on the side of self-interest.6. Your health is affected by your job.Stress-related illnesses are very much a thing. Working too hard or experiencing consistent stress can make you more susceptible to colds, flu, or any number of illnesses just waiting for a gap in your immune system caused by poor self-care. Anxiety disorders and depression are also conditions that can be made worse by staying in a job that causes you consistent stress.  Few jobs are forever, but your health is always going to be with you.7. Company morale is low.Shared misery can be a rallying point for coworkers when things are rough, but it could be that everyone is unhappy because something is seriously wrong at the upper management level. Even if you feel loyal to your company, it’s important to keep an eye on how things are going in general and to decide whether any issues are likely to be resolved in the short term. If not, you are not obligated to stick around if there are other opportunities.8. You don’t see how this job will advance your career. If you’ve moved up as far as y ou can in your current role without major personnel or company changes, consider whether there would be better chances for advancement somewhere else. Be proactive, instead of waiting patiently for someone else to retire or quit.9. You’re consistently bored at work.If you find yourself slacking or filling long hours between projects, it may be because you’re not being challenged enough by your job. Every job will have its boring moments, but overall it should be a role where the tasks make you feel engaged and productive. If that’s not happening, this job likely isn’t the right fit for you.10. You feel undervalued. We all have moments where we grumble that we aren’t being paid enough to deal with this *bleep*, but if you feel like your job responsibilities have seriously outpaced your paycheck, it’s time to re-evaluate. Do some research into salary ranges and compensation for your role at other companies. If you still feel like you are being under-compensated (and there’s no chance to negotiate more for yourself at your current place), it’s probably time to move on.

Sulfur Facts - Periodic Table of the Elements

Sulfur Facts - Periodic Table of the Elements SulfurBasic Facts Atomic Number: 16 Symbol: S Atomic Weight: 32.066 Discovery: Known since prehistoric time. Electron Configuration: [Ne] 3s2 3p4 Word Origin: Sanskrit: sulvere, Latin: sulpur, sulphurium: words for sulfur or brimstone Isotopes: Sulfur has 21 known isotopes ranging from S-27 to S-46 and S-48. Four isotopes are stable: S-32, S-33, S-34 and S-36. S-32 is the most common isotope with an abundance of 95.02%. Properties: Sulfur has a melting point of 112.8Â °C (rhombic) or 119.0Â °C (monoclinic), boiling point of 444.674Â °C, specific gravity of 2.07 (rhombic) or 1.957 (monoclinic) at 20Â °C, with a valence of 2, 4, or 6. Sulfur is a pale yellow, brittle, odorless solid. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in carbon disulfide. Multiple allotropes of sulfur are known. Uses: Sulfur is a component of gunpowder. It is used in the vulcanization of rubber. Sulfur has applications as a fungicide, fumigant, and in the making of fertilizers. It is used to make sulfuric acid. Sulfur is used in the making of several types of paper and as a bleaching agent. Elemental sulfur is used as an electrical insulator. The organic compounds of sulfur have many uses. Sulfur is an element that is essential for life. However, sulfur compounds can be highly toxic. For example, small amounts of hydrogen sulfide can be metabolized, but higher concentrations can quickly cause death from respiratory paralysis. Hydrogen sulfide quickly deadens the sense of smell. Sulfur dioxide is an important atmospheric pollutant. Sources: Sulfur is found in meteorites and native in proximity to hot springs and volcanoes. It is found in many minerals, including galena, iron pyrite, sphalerite, stibnite, cinnabar, Epsom salts, gypsum, celestite, and barite. Sulfur also occurs in petroleum crude oil and natural gas. The Frasch process may be used to obtain sulfur commercially. In this process, heated water is forced into wells sunk into salt domes in order to melt the sulfur. The water is then brought to the surface. Element Classification: Non-Metal Sulfur Physical Data Density (g/cc): 2.070 Melting Point (K): 386 Boiling Point (K): 717.824 Appearance: tasteless, odorless, yellow, brittle solid Atomic Radius (pm): 127 Atomic Volume (cc/mol): 15.5 Covalent Radius (pm): 102 Ionic Radius: 30 (6e) 184 (-2e) Specific Heat (20Â °C J/g mol): 0.732 Fusion Heat (kJ/mol): 1.23 Evaporation Heat (kJ/mol): 10.5 Pauling Negativity Number: 2.58 First Ionizing Energy (kJ/mol): 999.0 Oxidation States: 6, 4, 2, -2 Lattice Structure: Orthorhombic Lattice Constant (Ã…): 10.470 CAS Registry Number: 7704-34-9 Sulfur Trivia: Pure sulfur has no smell. The strong smell associated with sulfur should actually be attributed to compounds of sulfur.Brimstone is an ancient name for sulfur that means burning stone.Molten sulfur is red.Sulfur burns with a blue flame in a flame test.Sulfur is the seventeenth most common element in the Earths crust.Sulfur is the eighth most common element in the human body.Sulfur is the sixth most common element in seawater.Gunpowder contains sulfur, carbon and saltpeter. Sulfur or Sulphur?: The f spelling of sulfur was originally introduced in the United States in the 1828 Webster dictionary. Other English texts kept the ph spelling. The IUPAC formally adopted the f spelling in 1990.
